From the slopes of Kawa Ijen Java, Indonesia. 2009.
Fuji Gloss paper.
Another extremely early start to get up, over the rim and into the crater of the volcano Kawa Ijen in Java. The crater is a sulphur mine and, in the afternoon, becomes un-visitable due to the build up of noxious gases. The views in the crater were amazing - the most spectacular geographic scene I've ever seen in my life. This photo is taken on the slopes of the Kawa Ijen looking towards another neighbouring volcano.
